I have a background in Economics and I studied two Master’s degrees in environmental governance and issues of sustainability, uncertainty and complexity. In 2022, I defended my PhD in Environmental Science and Technology at the Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA-UAB). During my training, I have also received much appreciated intellectual inspiration from the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities (SVT) at UiB, where I have been guest researcher on several occasions.
In my dissertation, I critically investigated the role played by imaginaries of innovation and science in two intertwined spheres: the institutional and the public. Specifically, I performed a critical analysis of the role played by innovation, as imaginary, in European policy meaning-making, with special focus on environmental governance. Furthermore, I investigated narratives that (re)invoke idealized visions of science in environmental issues in the public sphere. Through this work, I acquired knowledge of philosophy, science and technology studies, history of economics as well as social environmental science. My current research interests are the increasing intersections between governance and innovation (and specifically data-driven innovation).
