He is Professor in the Faculty of Economy and Business, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He is a researcher at the Laboratory of Urban Transformation and Global Change (TURBA, UOC), where he leads a research line on the political ecology of socio-environmental transformation. His main contributions are situated in the fields of environmental studies, urban studies, geography and water studies. He has done extensive research on the political ecology of water, as well as on the urban political ecology of smart city and urban resilience.

I hold a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology from the Institut de Ciencia i Tecnología Ambientals, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (ICTA-UAB), a MSc Joint European Master in Environmental Studies by ICTA-UAB and the Hamburg-Harburg University of Technology (TUHH), and a BA in Economics and Develpoment Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). I am co-PI of the project DEMO.
